Guerilla Baseball Academy will be hosting a three day baseball camp during the Easter Break this 2012. The dates will be April 9th, 10th and 11th. The times will be 10am-1pm each day. The location will be Guerilla Baseball behind K-Mart in Mandeville. The ages are 6-13years old.

Travel baseball provides a higher level of training and competition for talented and motivated baseball players who are willing to commit time to the improvement of their skills in a team focused environment. It requires a commitment from players and parents to attend practices and tournaments.

Who is Eligible to Participate?

Any 13 year old (7^th or 8^th Grader) who will not turn 14 until after May 1, 2012.

Schedule for Summer 2011

Practices for the travel baseball season will begin in March 2012 with tournament games April – July. Practices and games will not conflict with junior high baseball schedules. The season will conclude in late July with an end of the season tournament trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. The commitment for a player on a travel baseball team is typically 2-3 nights per week for practices and weekend tournaments. We have 8 tournaments scheduled between April – July.

Guerilla Baseball Academy will be holding 13U AAA/AA tryouts for the Guerilla Baseball Travel Team for the 2011-12 (Fall/Spring) Season on AUGUST 27th at Guerilla Baseball in Mandeville. We will practice in the Fall (September – November) twice a week and play 3-5 tournaments. The team program will focus on strength & speed training, pitching mechanics, hitting mechanics, all position development and team management.

We will practice at Guerilla along with field training.

Jim “The Rookie” Morris contacted me this morning and we finally did the interview. What a great 40 minutes of priceless information we put together in a video that is posted here.

You have to watch the entire interview because he reveals his secrets of how he overcame 9 surgeries and was able to throw 99mph and play Major League Baseball. It was such an honor to speak with him. He is full of valauble information and a real inspiration to listen too.

The most exciting parts about the interview with Mr. Morris is that his approach to pitching is my almost exact approach and it is the approach that is the foundation for the Ace Pitcher Handbook and the 3X Velocity Camp which is what I teach at Guerilla Baseball.

Monday, October 4, 2010 at 6:00 PM at Guerilla Baseball in Mandeville behind Kmart

Mission and Team Philosophy: To form a U12 Travel Team to compete in the 2011 season at the AA level. The intent is to form a team that develops baseball skills and knowledge for a group of boys that will play together in 2011 with the likelihood of continuing in 2012 at U13 for those team members that do not move on to School Sponsored teams. Players will be selected based on baseball ability, but equally important attitude and willingness to be a good team member. While winning games is always the goal, this team will make player skills development the first priority. In particular, this team will be coached by former professional pitcher, Brent Pourciau, which will give all players the opportunity to develop their pitching skills.

Parental Involvement and support: Travel baseball is an intense activity, even at the lowest level of competition. It can require a significant commitment of time and financial resources. To help defray a portion of the financial cost, this team will be fully sponsored in terms of equipment, uniforms, and tournament fees. However, because this team will be professionally coached, there will be a monthly cost during the season, which will run from January 2011 through July 2011. This fee will pay for three or four days per week of Brent’s time and access to the Guerilla Baseball facility. It is anticipated that the monthly fee will be $125 per month, or $825 for the entire season.

Coaching: Brent Pourciau of Guerilla Baseball in Mandeville will coach this team.

Daniel Pitfield Signs with Spring Hills College

Guerilla’s Daniel Pitfield signed with Spring Hill College as a Freshman to pitch for the Badger’s this season after beating the Czech Republic in the Prague Cup this past summer. Daniel has trained with Guerilla Baseball for the past year and a half and is now playing in the NAIA. Daniel recorded zero innings pitching in High School at Foutainblue High and with a lot of hard work and determination he turned himself into a college athlete. Guerilla is proud of Daniel’s accomplishment and looks forward to his college success. Guerilla Baseball’s Daniel Pitfield represented the USA and Guerilla Baseball in Prague this summer in the Prague Baseball Week playing with AIST after making the team at the tryout held at Guerilla Baseball this past fall. He pitched 8 innings against the CZech Republic taking the Win to put AIST in first place. AIST won the final game against Russia 7-1 to take the championship. Guerilla Baseball will hold a “Back to School” camp the last week of July. The camp will run the 28th, 29th and 30th of July. The price for the 3 days is $99. The camp will be from 10am – 1pm each day of the camp. The camp will cover hitting, fielding, throwing and pitching instruction along with a competitive Wiffle ball game to end each day. Awards and Prizes will be give out. The MVP of the camp will be given a free month of Guerilla Baseball Classes. Guerilla Baseball has a Hitting class Monday – Friday from 4-5pm and a Throwing/Fielding class Monday – Friday from 5-6pm.

Christmas Guerilla Baseball Camps

Sign up today for the Christmas Guerilla Baseball Camps! We will be running two camps this Christmas. The first camp will start on December 21,22,23. The second camp will run on December 28,29,30. The camp times are each day from 10am to 1pm. Bring your glove, bat and tennis shoes.

The camp will include:

Hitting
Throwing/Pitching
Fielding
Strength and Conditioning
Wiffle Ball Series.
Awards and prizes.

Special Guest:

The rumour is that Santa Claus may show on the 23rd.

Camp age groups include 7 – 12.

Guerilla Speed and Strength Training

Guerilla has equipped their weight room with all the tools for speed and strength training. Increase pitch velocity and bat speed with their fast twitch muscle fiber focused training programs. We are open five days a week which allows for our 4 days a week training programs. If you are looking for big improvements this season, you must start a training program today! Guerilla Black Friday Bash

The Guerilla Black Friday Bash will run on November the 27th from 8am – 12pm. If you need a place to drop the kids while you shop then stop by Guerilla on Black Friday and for only $35 you can drop them off and pick them up at any time before 12pm.

Guerilla hosting AIST tryouts for Italy, Prague and the DR

Guerilla Baseball Academy is hosting tryouts for American International Sports Tours Baseball teams traveling and competing in Italy, Prague and the Dominican Republic. Tryouts are open to the public. If you make a team you will be given an invitation to travel with AIST to represent the USA in an opposing country.

The tryouts will be held on Saturday October the 17th at 1:00pm at Guerilla Baseball Academy in Mandeville. Please park in the K-Mart parking lot and walk over. If you plan to attend please contact us.

Dominican Republic Baseball Tour 2010

July 29 – August 5, 2010 Join us in the Dominican Republic where our select collegiate team will play against MLB Dominican Summer League teams. In the past we have played against some of the top young talent in the DR. In the past, we have played against the Mets, Diamond backs and other MLB Dominican Summer League teams. We will also play against local club teams as well. This is a great way to see how baseball truly is a part of life. Kids in the DR use baseball as there way out of the country and you get the opportunity to experience it first hand. You’ll be able to enjoy the beach right outside your hotel room at the 4 star all inclusive hotel throughout the week. This is by far the best valued tour AIST has to offer. On this tour you will spend time in Rome, Florence, San Marino, Remini Beach and Como with guided tours and some sightseeing on your own. Club level teams will be hosting us from all over Italy. Prague Baseball week is an annual event that brings teams from several different countries. The Medieval city of Prague has beautiful architecture dating back to the 9th century.
